So what does the trailer tell us?
This is only the trailer and I already feel inspired. The film is based on a true story within WW2, which seems to be a trending topic this year with a variety of film releases coming to the surface regarding American in the Second World War. As the trailer and the story explain WWII American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, who served during the Battle of Okinawa, refuses to kill people and becomes the first Conscientious Objector in American history to be awarded the Medal of Honor.
Doesn’t look bad, does it? You can see this one topping the other war film releases this year because it is really hard to imagine anyone serving in WW2 without a weapon at all so it will be interesting to see how the film displays just how he did it. We can expect many breathtakingly painful moments as the trailer shows snippets of what is to come from Desmond. I am curious to see how he survived that grenade.
Shall we expect more WW2 films this year from the perspective of the Americans? Is there a huge thirst for it in the industry? Be interesting to why there are at least three film announcements recently accommodating for this subject.
