So what does the trailer tell us?
Ah, Christopher Nolan – how do you do it? A one minute trailer had me gripped. The slow build-up of the music, the eerie silence of the boat full of soldiers, the incoming attack and then silence! It killed me and I was so disappointed it was a minute long. If the tension in this film is the same as the trailers with the typical Nolan approach then we are in for a massive treat. I do not make it a secret of my admiration for this director.
To give you more of an idea to what this film will be about (because the trailers provide tension but nothing on narrative) – Nolan has decided to take on a World War Two film (yes a lot of World War Two films are getting released this year – it’s a hot topic) and apply his own style of filming. This is a first for Nolan however I am confident he will serve another enthralling feature. The basic premise of the story is that the allied soldiers from Belgium, Britain, and France are surrounded by the German army and evacuated during a fierce battle.
Nolan has a habit of keeping his films as secretive as possible so this will have to do for now. Sorry folks. It is starring Tom Hardy though which just adds to the excitement.
