What the trailer tells us
It looks like another Independence Day type story but a deeper version with a more constructed narrative with a deeper and darker tones. My issues with the new Independence Day was clear in my review.
The trailer does not give too much away a part from the fact that something peculiar has landed on earth and a team is sent to investigate.
The music is quite simple and eerie, not too over the top but just enough to maintain suspense. This is only a trailer, however, it provides enough detail to spark your interest. It’s quite a short but in that small space of time, it gives quite a lot of information. I guess this is the first trailer of many so we can expect much more. You may notice that Amy Adams looks to be the central lead character in this film which is something to look forward to and Jeremy Renner makes an appearance as well so it will be interesting to see how integral he is to the narrative in comparison to the Avenger films.
We await a decent alien invasion film and this trailer gives hope that this may be the next one.
